More fun in the sun

June 20th, 2014

The weather has been kind to us again this week enabling us to spend lots of time outside.

Continuing the theme “Our Amazing World” we have been looking at fish and sea creatures, so we have been examining shells found on the beach at Blackpool and reading books all about fish. ¬†Our favourite toy this week has been a beautiful wooden pirate ship complete with treasure chest, canon and miniature pirates.

In the playground we have been learning how to roll and spin hoola hoops and because its the World Cup we have been kicking, rolling and catching footballs too.

Next week is MADD week across the whole school so we will have lots of exciting news to share with you all.

Early Years hope you have a lovely weekend and we will see you all for a busy week next week.

Welcome back for Summer 2!

June 9th, 2014

Early Years began the half term in a flurry of activity. Thank you to everyone who has sent in sun cream, we certainly needed it at times last week!

Our theme this term is “Our Amazing World”. We enjoyed exploring our new jungle den and pretending to be different animals like lions and dinosaurs. We even learned a new action song all about different dinosaurs. Our favourite toys were definitely the jungle safari set.

We love our sensory stories and this half term we are learning all about a little bear who flies to the moon in a cardboard box (“Whatever Next?”).

We will be exploring “Under The Sea” in the coming weeks, so expect lots of water play!
